Season Opener October 15, 2009
Posted By: The Kings
Tuesday, October 06, 2009

On October 15, 2009, the Kings County Kings will open their season against the ill hearted Falcons at the Cody Bank Arena. The Kings have a significantly different looking lineup this year with only 9 returing players from last years squad.

Up front they maintain a strong grit presense with the likes of Peter Macleod and Trent Johnson bruising around. Looking for break out seasons are a fast skating J hook shooter in Cole Fraser and new addition A.J. Macinnis.
The biggest change up fron is the addition of 5 rookies making spots on the roster, all coming up from bantam last season.

On the point, 4 returning D will hold a strong blueline presence with the addition of a gifted Connor Myers who sees the ice magnificently. Rounding ou the D will be Jarred Pollard, who?, Jarred Pollard. Thats right, this player came from The Sherwood Organization and had enough. he''s looking for a change and he chose the Kings. In a recent interview the Defenseman said he like the way things were run down here and wanted to be part of a great team and season. He knew making the back end would be tough but impressed even more at every tryout camp.

Between the pipes is probably the biggest change for the Kings this year with 2 bran new goalies all the way from Bantam. These two Goalies are Jed "i like the cold'' Winters and John''The apple'' Macintosh. These two backstopped the Kings in bantam last year with a league title and anything short of that this year to them is unacceptable. These two will push each other and it will be a very positive competition to make them better as they go.

Back behind the bench this year is the perfect trio of Steffan Cudmore, Matt Weeks, and Chris Bruce. The boys led the team to the semi finals last year with a lose to pownal but are looking for redemption this year. Coach Cudmore said that nothign short of Atlantics, which are in S''side this year, Will be tolerated. he goes on to say, we had the squad last year to do it, and this year with are offensive power additions up front and fortifying the back end with 2 new D and 2 bran new goalies, we should have the depth to go far.''

The Kings open the Season in Sherwood at Cody Banks Arena on Thursday october 15 @ 8:00pm. Coach cudmore says all players to be there at least one hour before, with shirt and tie. Jarred Pollard will be facing his old team and only has a few words to say, We''ll be having Falcon Soup tonight!

Go Kings and have a great year.
